I went with a smaller jerk bait today to see if that worked better as the water cools. I’ve heard that bigger and smaller work better in Autumn. This one caught perch but not bass. Still haven’t found the elusive trout in this lake.
Earlier I caught a respectable, not huge, largemouth on a chartreuse square bill crankbait near a rock pile. That was the only hit. I switched to a red and silver square bill that dove a bit deeper with no luck.
Not a bad day though. A very short outing between morning business work and lunch. Caught the bass that was about 1.5 lbs and the large perch in the photo.
